About

Megan ‘MK’ Warren is an interdisciplinary community-focused educator, facilitator, artist and gardener who focuses on food and nature literacy, sustainability, and craft.

As a multidisciplinary artist and maker her creative work uses a combination of fibre arts, botanicals, found objects and other mixed-media assemblage to create 3-dimensional artworks, decor, and crafts that she sells in small batches online under the moniker Such Small Hands. Consistent themes and techniques in her work include locally foraged natural dyes, upcycled fibres, nature imagery and materials, decorations and accessories.

MK has facilitated a variety of workshops with local organizations and businesses including East End Arts, Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Services, The Good Swap TO, Toronto Plant Market, CookSmart, and Saje Natural Wellness. She is a member of the Toronto-based Works In Progress collective, whose activities and community engagement focus on the education and upcycling of textiles and textile waste, often partnering with other community orgs for mending and upcycling workshops.

MK currently works as a hiking guide for Parkbus ActiveDays Ontario, as well as a recreation instructor and coordinator for the City of Toronto, where she teaches sewing, cooking, gardening, nature education, and crafting to children and adults. In her spare time she participates in City Choir as a chorister and the Event Coordinator. She has a Bachelors of Design in Fibre and Material Arts from OCAD University, and certificates in Horticulture, and Arts Education and Community Engagement from Humber and Centennial colleges.
